Hello, I’m Laura. I teach the classes at Dance in Dunmow.
I am a qualified freestyle teacher with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) with experience in Latin, ballroom, disco and street dance. I am also a qualified gym instructor, a Zumba instructor, a certified nutritionist, a qualified primary school teacher and an extremely unqualified mummy to a wonderfully crazy 3-year-old .
I have loved dancing since stepping into my first class at 8 years old. Dancing has always been my constant through school, university, and into adulthood. It has seen me through many highs and lows.
I’m passionate about bringing adults back to dance or to give them an opportunity to start a class. As I’ve got older, I’ve noticed how barriers go up that stop people from doing the things they love.
“I’m too old.”
“I have no time for myself.”
“I have to look after the kids.”
Etc etc…
It is so important to carve out time for yourself. I do this for myself through my dance classes. I always leave buzzing!
I am really hoping that Dance in Dunmow can help people have fun and rediscover the joy of trying something new.
My attendees always talk to me about how when they have a bad day, dancing always cheers them up as it doesn’t give you an opportunity to think about anything else. It’s great for the brain as well as the body.
I want to build a community in Dunmow of like-minded adults who enjoy dance and want to meet some new friends.
Please do reach out to me if you’d like to know more.
